Why yards fail in Nassau — and what most people get wrong.
Almost every landscaping problem we're called to fix started long before the plant died. It started the day it went in.
The soil here isn't really soil
Much of the ground here is thin soil sitting on limestone rock. It's alkaline, it drains fast, and it will slowly starve a plant that needs deeper, more acid ground. Put the wrong species in it and no amount of feeding or spraying afterwards will rescue it. We check what's actually under your yard before we choose anything to put in it.
Wrong depth, wrong season
Set a plant too deep and it suffocates slowly over months. Set it too shallow and it dries out. Put it in at the wrong point in the year and it spends its first season fighting to survive instead of rooting. Timing isn't a detail here — it decides whether the thing lives. Right depth, right spacing, right time of year. Every time.
Everything cut, fed and watered the same
St. Augustine wants to be left long. Bermuda wants to be kept short. Cut them both the same way and one of them thins out — and thin grass is an open invitation to weeds. The same goes for watering and feeding, and for what salt air does to the plants nearest the coast. We identify what you have first, then treat it the way it wants to be treated.

The person doing the work
He's been growing plants since he was eight years old.
Jean Marc started with cuttings as a boy — then learned to prune, to fertilize, and to recognise and treat plant disease. At sixteen he started King Landscaping with two lawnmowers.
He then spent fifteen years advancing his craft at one of the largest landscaping companies in the Bahamas before coming back and building King into the company it is today. That's more than twenty years of hands-on work on Bahamian properties — the same soil, the same salt, the same seasons, the same problems, over and over, until you know them.
It's why King doesn't hand your property to whoever happened to be available that morning. The knowledge is the service.

Yes. We come out, assess the property and measure up at no charge, and then you get an accurate written quote. We quote after seeing the property rather than over the phone, because a number given down the phone is a guess — and guesses are how people end up paying twice.
We walk the property with you and you tell us what's bothering you and what you want it to look like. We check the soil, drainage, light, the grass you have and the condition of what's already planted, then measure up.
You'll get an accurate quote and a plan — what we'd do, in what order, and why. Please have whoever makes decisions about the property there, so you don't need a second visit.
That's what we're known for. A lawn that won't hold is nearly always telling you something — the soil, the drainage, the water, the grass type, or the height it's being cut at. We find which one it is and fix the cause, rather than selling you another round of treatment for the symptom.
Yes. We maintain grounds for businesses across Nassau on scheduled contracts — Leno Corporation among them — including weekly care of interior office plants. Commercial assessments are booked the same way: pick a time and we'll come and walk the site.
We grow our own. Plants for your job come from our nursery and are chosen to suit your soil and site — which is a large part of why they keep growing after they go in the ground.

Both. A full landscape installation or a one-time restoration is just as welcome as a standing maintenance schedule. Plenty of clients start with a one-off clean-up and move onto a schedule once they've seen the work.
It depends on the season and what's already booked, and for planting work there are times of year that give a far better result than others — we'll be straight with you about that at the assessment. Tell us your timing when you book and we'll work to it where we can.
